The power of your imagination - a way of manifesting

Did you know that we consciously use only around 5% of our brain capacity? According to cognitive neuroscientists the other 95% is driven by our unconscious. This means that there are many things we do automatically, without having to think about them, which makes total sense. How would we be able to operate our body by having to intentionally think about all the things it needs to do in order to execute basic operating processes that fulfill our basic needs? The example that comes to mind is simply going out for a walk, when we do this, there are so many cognitive processes involved that if we would have to consider each of them, then we would probably not be able to simply ‘go out for a walk’.

Ok, so what else is happening with that 95% that we are not aware of? What are those unconscious programs that are important to be aware of? Beliefs are programs that we have learnt or activated throughout our life. Beliefs can be positive and enhancing or negative and limiting. You either learned that you are worth all the magic and abundance of the universe and you move through life with this program, or you learned that you are not worth it and you need to work really hard to get there and deserve it. Based on these simple beliefs you may notice that either you keep saying to yourself that you are worth it just by simply existing, or you are not worth it at all because whatever you are doing is not enough. We typically download these beliefs into our system from the environment where we happen to be when we grow up. We hear and see our parents or caretakers saying these things to themselves so then we take them in and start living life accordingly.

So far we touched a bit on that 95% of our intelligence, and we can go further. Some of these programs can also be stored deep inside our DNA. This means that if our ancestors went through a repetitive pattern, let’s say that your family always had situations with physical abuse, then in this case the beliefs and memories of physical abuse in your genetic memory may lead you to unconsciously feel that close relationships are not safe because they lead to physical abuse. Here is where things get even more interesting. In this case, your unconscious may protect you from finding a partner or getting closer in relationships because it carries the belief that those relationships could be dangerous. So if you find yourself trying and not being able to get into relationships, then it is because your unconscious is protecting you from that potential harm since it only knows, or mostly knows of relationships not working out. This is a great example of a moment when your 5% comes into dissonance with the 95%. You are trying to do something, trying to bring something into your life, you are working super hard to make it happen, and it just doesn’t come through. The 5% says, I want to get this, and the 95% says no you cannot because it is dangerous and we need to protect you from repeating that story.

It is at this moment when the doors of opportunity open up. Here is where our imagination as a powerful tool for manifestation becomes essential. It is known that our 95% unconscious intelligence does not understand the difference between real and imaginary. This is pretty evident, following the previous example of relationships, because if our 95% keeps acting as if any close relationship will be dangerous, when we never really experienced first hand all the relationship drama that our ancestors did; then our unconscious does not know the difference between ourselves and our ancestors, or the present and the past - our unconscious is always in the present moment. So what? What can we do given that we now know that this is something that happens? We need to start feeding our unconscious with the types of experiences that we want to live and experience in this lifetime.

Since the unconscious does not understand the difference between real and imaginary, we just need to imagine whatever we truly desire to live and feel. Let’s keep building up with that example of relationships, especially if you find that your conscious self wants to get closer and deeper into relationships while your unconscious keeps disabling that possibility. Start by imagining the relationship(s) that you would like to experience in your life. If it is a loving relationship with an amazing partner that is and feels safe, then go into your imagination and explore what this would look like, and how it would feel to live this. You can also write this down, and continue imagining all the things and changes that will come to your life by creating this. Remember that the unconscious forms part of our long term memory so we need to make a habit out of these manifestations.

Habits are formed from repetition. We learn something and then we repeat. Practicing this in different contexts and occasions solidifies the habit to the point where it becomes an automatic unconscious pattern. So whatever you are interested in attracting or building up, should be pursued with focus and repetition. Continue seeing yourself in these relationships, making sure that all these visualizations are positive and feel good. Given that unconsciously there may be lots of relationship drama in your memory, then when you start these visualizations, you may see your mind wanting to go into the relationships not working out. This is completely normal, if this happens it is because your unconscious is just trying to protect you from going to that painful place. The way to override this is by continuing to feed your unconscious with positive, loving, soft, grateful imaginary experiences in relationship or in whatever you are intending to manifest. You just have to keep going so the unconscious starts getting the message that relationships or that which you are trying to attract is totally OK, that it is safe to go there and you are ready to make it happen.

As you continue repeating this process, you will find that reality starts changing, you will start seeing more possibilities opening up. You don’t necessarily need to know what is happening in your unconscious that is limiting you from getting where you want to be. You may already be quite aware that whatever you are trying to manifest may not be coming your way as intended. So when this happens, you just need to start going into your imagination to make it happen there, preparing yourself by sending signals to the unconscious that you are ready and feel safe to make it work. If possible, stop complaining about these things that are so hard and that are not coming into your life, and start imagining your desired future, programming your unconscious to hop on and thrive coherently in alignment with your purpose. You got this!

Transcendence is always accessible in the subtleties of the mundane and repetitive. Taking a moment to look into the breath, that is always happening, brings another opportunity to engage in the poetics of life, creating therefore an experience of the sublime - an experience not to be missed, a bucket list must!
